Abstract
This article analyzes the critical events that 13 new directors experience in public schools in Chile. Each event was rewritten by using the technique of narrative analysis. The results provide insights into the organizational dimensions involved in those events and the lessons they learn from the ways of managing a conflict. It is concluded that the critical events provide an opportunity to start an unplanned change with a scope related to the strategies for conflict management.
