Abstract

This essay reviews two forms of literary criticism fictionalized by Roberto Bolaño. The first one is found in By Night in Chile, and focuses on journalistic criticism. The second is in "The Part about the Critics" (2666), and has Academic literary criticism as its object. This paper proposes that the author contrasts these two forms with a critique close to that elaborated by Jena Romanticism, a critique that operates immanently, which is why the structure of the work is of crucial importance.
