This article under fondecyt project 11100402 accounts the experiences of a group of educators that promote and develop competencies for the assessment of science, technology and innovation in 2-5 years old children. During project development educators have faced issues, including what vision of teaching, learning and image of science to promote to young students facing early and timely encounter with science, particularly in chemistry. An example of this approach comes from the discipline in the article, as some results are also discussed in the development of activities for infants and from educators.
