Abstract
The risk on social housing, built in coastal zones that are exposed to tsunami hazards, is evaluated through numerical modeling techniques, using as scenario the last destructive event which affected the central-south Chile, the 1960 tsunami. Characterizing and quantifying hydrodynamic parameters of the inundation such as the depth of it and the current velocity, the potential damage to the housing is estimated. Finally, some reflections are present about the social housing location importance and it relation with the exposure to extreme natural processes.
