Abstract

The objective of this study is to diagnose about the activities related with the course planning process that the academic perform in the Chilean engineering faculties. For this work, a study was made including two hundred and six academics from the engineering faculties that belong to the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities, who were consulted about how often they perform global planning, planning of each of the units included in the course, and also of each class. They were also asked for the level of importance given to each of these planning activities, for the development of university teaching exercise. From the results, it can be noted that academic that were trained in teaching during their studies considered that the most important activities are those related to assessment for learning and strategic planning.
