Abstract

This research has the aim of proposing a guide that integrate the problems-situations regarding the understanding of random variable and their applications in probability distributions promoted by the Chilean School Curriculum, based on the ideas of Didactic Transposition and OSA’s primary mathematical objects (Ontosemiotic Approach to Mathematical Cognition and Instruction). First, through the content analysis to Chilean and international curricular documents, the Guide of Problems-Situations about Random Variable and their Applications in Probability Distributions according to the School Chilean Curriculum (GPS-RVPD) was created. Subsequently, from the literature has been selected an initial item group that is a representation of the problems-situations that compose the guide, and then through an expert judgment the final group was identified. The results show that the GPS-RVPD is constituted by 34 problems-situations, from which emerge the rest primary mathematical objects. This tool is feasible to use for identifying items representing their problems-situations, through expert judgment, this is because the final item group obtained a good validity and concordance coefficient (0,86).
