N2 - The concept of Anthropocene has been extensively analyzed by the natural sciences, as evidenced by studies in physics, biology, chemistry, or astrophysics. This studies mainly aim to understand the current state of the global situation and the possible ways to remedy, or at least to stop, the climate change. However, since the concept of Anthropocene is at the same time an epistemological cultural category, we argue that it should be the object of historical analysis. In this regard, the article postulates the need to integrate the Anthropocene as a historiographic category, with a view to deepening the political and institutional lines, suggesting a new historical periodization that critically analyzes, and reveals the relationship of humanity, as geological agent, with nature.
