Abstract

In this paper, we address the problem of channel estimation in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing systems in the presence of time and carrier frequency offset. We consider the utilization of an Information Criteria (namely Akaike's Information Criterion and Bayesian Information Criterion) for the joint estimation of the channel, channel length and the time offset. To this end, the log-likelihood function is concentrated in one variable, i.e. The carrier frequency offset, for the attainment of the maximum likelihood estimate.
