Abstract

The following article seeks to specify the influence of Baruch Spinoza (1632-1677) in Xavier Zubiri's Thought (1898-1983) around the issue of Matter aimed to understand what is aesthetic. Is well known that young Zubiri was a great reader of Spinoza; indeed, he teaches it with wide detail to his friend and student Maria Zambrano. We think that Zubiri was permanently influenced by the Dutch thinker and this is reflected in the way that Zubiri deals with his concept of Matter, key in his work; this concept let us understand the aesthetic dimension in the Spaniard thinker.
