New combinations in the Neotropical genus Monticalia (Compositae, Senecioneae)

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

In order to move towards an accurate delimitation of Monticalia and its morphologically closest genera, the following names are transferred to Monticalia: Pentacalia chimborazensis, Senecio aclydiphyllus, S. miniauritus and S. pleniauritus. The four species thrive in the highlands of the central Andes and were hitherto treated under the genus Pentacalia. Monticalia miniaurita comb. nov. is recorded in Ecuador for the first time.
