Abstract
Journalism is experiencing one of the most significant disasters in the last few decades. Because of the economic crisis, many media outlets have restructured, resulting in increasing deterioration of professional working conditions and information quality. This article focuses on one of the more sensitive specialties in this setting: scientific journalism. Through the perspective of journalists themselves, we analyze the effects of the economic crisis and the media on coverage of scientific issues in Spain, and new trends in the sector.
