Abstract

After the presentation and discussion of different interpretations of the concept of statistical literacy, the necessity of the different levels of knowledge, competence and disposition on the treatment and interpretation of the data (statistical sense) is concluded. This paper analyzes the components of the statistical sense that is appropiate to the first level, that is, the statistical literacy, which we can and, should be, developed at the levels of primary and secondary education. This establishes the bases of the statistical literacy that should have for all citizens to face the information society with guarantees.
