Abstract
In the present paper, we describe preliminary results of analyzing the activities in which statistical tables are involved in textbooks of third grade of Primary Education in Chile. To collect the data, a Content Analysis was carried out in the units related to statistics and probability of three textbooks, which have been chosen for their wide dissemination. The results show that the most frequent type of representation corresponds to the counting table and the activities of translating and calculating, related to the construction of graphs and the development of arithmetic operations with the information of a table. Finally, we observe differences on the type of table and activity according to the textbook that is considered.
