N2 - Composites based on an epoxy-novolac matrix and a Cuban henequen fiber reinforcement were investigated. A satisfactory reinforcing effect was observed for a composite material prepared by compression molding at room temperature using long random fiber mats. Tensile and impact experiments were run on the material, and its thermogravimetric analysis was performed. The breaking zone of the specimens tested in tension was examined by an electron sweep microscope. The results obtained are presented graphically and in photographs.
