Abstract

This article proposes a first approach to the work of Clement of Alexandria: The Pedagogue. It articulates the last period of the ancient world with new trends of thought and a cultual and religious syncretism and the position of a new eidos: monotheism. It tries to demonstrate that the role of education, the educator and Christ the paidagogos are seen as the rational grounds of faith and a message of salvation towards man's perfection.
