Abstract

This paper presents a short description of a set of interactive virtual and remote laboratories developed in the framework of the AutoTECH project. This EU-funded project is aimed at two specific groups of people of the wide control community: automation technicians and vocational students on measurement and control systems. The chosen process to build the remote lab and perform experiments on PID control is a didactical heat-flow setup. Regarding the simulators, three have been the selected processes: self-regulated first and second order processes, and a pure integral process. The selection of these processes is due to they are well-known and used systems in the process control industry and, at the same time, they are studied in the European vocational training schools.
