Abstract

Thispaper presents an experimental setup for the wideband RF characterizationof a Micro-Cathode Sustained Discharge (MCSD). It consists of a 50 Ω microstrip linewith a single MCSD placed in itscenter. The RF parameters (permittivity and conductivity) of the MCSD are evaluated from the measurement of the scattering parameters of the experimental device. This micro-discharge is studied under the perspective of using it as an integrated active component in an antenna.
