Spirituality is understood by psychology as a powerful human resource that directly relates to the building vital meaning, which acts as an element that helps individuals achieve a better understanding of themselves and, at the same time, as a dimension that helps them transcend. Because of this, those aspects contribute to humans being able to develop relationships with others and the environment based on certain understandings about universal benevolence and overcoming selfishness. This kind of relationship in particular may or may not consider a relation to a divinity, which makes spirituality a construct that is not strictly theological. However, theology has certainly dedicated time to study it. This article intends to show, from a theoretical point of view, how spirituality is understood by positive psychology as a human strength that relates to a full and mature psychological development. This helps spirituality to be promoted in a variety of areas and institutions, particularly in education. In order to do so, specific elements that make spirituality a core element in current education, particularly because of its integrating, non-standardized, and material nature, are described.
